Seeing...but through a glass darkly

Words are hard to find to explain the awesome things God did at Blaze this year...it was very much a catalyst for new things to emerge that have been stuck. It was a spiritual midwife and helped get some stuff out of the birth canal. We were sooooooooooooo blessed by Gaz Kishere from Bournemouth England. He was a God send for us and for the conference. I can't even put into words the prophetic clarity that he spoke into our lives and how liberating and energizing that was to receive, when so often we are giving it out all the time but rarely get to experience it for ourselves.

But there was far more of an Apostolic reality that he brought for us too. Not in a father figure role or anything like that, not over us but along side us in a ministering and foundational way. He brought blessing to who we were...more than what we were doing. He spoke to the issues that were critical within us and have been affecting things around us.

Stuff concerning the church, our role in it, our dreams and plans concerning church and living out the kingdom among us, all kinds of stuff. But most importantly it was simply refreshing to be with someone who understood and could speak to the situation not just judge it or just deconstruct it, but help us see where to go in it.

We have already begun working out the implications of this weekend and change is already taking place. The main point to sum everything up was...moving from unreality's to realities in relationships, church life and living out the truth as we know it inside and not constantly allowing other peoples truth determine our ability to speak the truth in love. Facing how we really feel and think and moving out of an enabling mode that keeps things safe but not real.

gosh - did you really write all that about little ol me?
Only just found this today - almost a year later.
Sometimes people think you have prophetic sight, sometimes you have no clue at all where your going, far more about where your not going. In fact, in the absence of sight, your other senses are said to play a much stronger part to fill the defecit. i would have to say that in spokane my sense of smell was probably more at work than any other. Did you know you can smell ? and life too, both have their own smell. i know cause i was praying for some once, thought i was just blessing what God was doing and this lady comes up, says to 'stop it' dont let the enemy take you for a ride. Well, i felt like a dork, so i go up to her later and said,'what was i doing wrong?' she was very gracious and explained how she had worked in care around the elderly for many years, often being the person who gave them care after , wrapped them and got them ready for the coroner to take. She said, when youve been around - you can smell it, its unmistakable.
In all places there is a mix of both, there was a mix of both in Spokane but a lot more life, a lot more life.
When youve been in a barren dessert, to be around life is an incomparible JOY. In spokane and around Eric and LeeElla, you just had to respond to the smell of life.
Here is a song for them both (or you both if your reading):

Over the of the desert
Will come the rivers flow
into the cover of darkness
the brightest light will show
out of the womb of the morning
will come you your like dew
AFTER THE PAIN AND THE GROANING
COMES CELEBRATION NEWS

Is this the time
Is this the day
the past behind
new life embraced
NO LONGER DESOLATE
LET THIS BE FERTILE GROUND
WHERE CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE ARE FOUND
WHERE CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE ARE FOUND
(godrey birtill - album - fertile ground)

bit more of that one........
I hear the Lord say to my Lord
come sit at my right hand
until the enemies crumble
all under your command
all of your troops will be willing
upon the battle day
see now your army arising
in majesty arrayed

Is this this time
Is this the day
the past behind
new life embraced
no longer desolate
let this be fertile ground
WHERE CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE ARE FOUND

Just felt this was for you both at this time. Best Best Best Regards to Blaze - have a huge one!
