Where did you get that picture? It must be the feeling of all Pastors to some degree. The Lord giving words of exhortation, love, etc. to a Pastor and the Pastor never seeing fruition in the way they imagine. But I think the Lord is attentive where ever His word is proclaimed and though many hearts may mirror the Lord in the picture you posted, there are always those that are burning with each word and may be snatched from the fire by them or years later inspired to do some noble work because of them. Based on the last sermon we heard you preach, I doubt many slumped in that service. Love Dad
Funny picture. I'm curious how does a preacher gauge the response to his sermons? I've never seen a comment form. I hope it's not done by tithings recieved, but I have a feeling it might be in some cases. I imagine if I was a preacher I would have all kinds of concern about this, misplaced and anxious feelings about whether or not I was reaching my flock. I have often asked people about the response of my work, I usually only hear about when my work is well recieved, it would be pretty upsetting to hear when it wasn't, but it would probably be more helpful in making my work better. I become my only real critic, probably not such a good thing. -Matt
