Christian unplugged...

My eldest son Christian, has been recording acoustic songs and posted them at http://www.myspace.com/christianblauer here. I've been amazed to watch my older kids growing as musicians, their skills at playing various instruments, writing songs, recording and mixing their music and playing local gigs all before the age of 16...I couldn't be more proud. But I think the real joy comes from a deeper place. I've always prayed that my children would rise in the same spirit of King David. A man who was both a man of worship and a man of war. He was able to wield the musical instruments or the sword of Goliath. He knew how to delve into the mysteries of faith or the tragedies and joys of earth's dramas. He knew how to weep or how to shout with praise. He knew failure, sin and judgment but ascended to holy places that angels fear to tread. I've prayed for kids that would have their feet planted in the dust of common human realities but whose hearts and minds were captured by Heavenly things. I see this in my daughter Destiny and in Christian. I see honest pursuit and struggle. I am blessed to entrust them to God's grace as they wrestle into their own spiritual skins. I see how these arrows will fly farther and deeper than I've ever gone.
