What do you think of this....
Warning: video contains disturbing pics of world tragedy.
I know a lot of christians subscribe to this kind of eschatology (study of last things).
But...chaos charisma is alive and thriving in christian movies, books and media but in a world of evil, injustice, suffering and tragedy...I wish we could send a more hopeful message. But, maybe all christian eschatology has to offer is death, destruction, horror, judgment, terror, panic, suffering...hell.
Is this all there is, all the gospel offers for humanity on earth?
I don't think so.

What do I think of it? I think adding clips from The Day After Tomorrow was extremely tacky.
As far as the eschatology goes, I'm on the fence. I'm pulling away from a lot of the hype to really study what the Word actually says. For instance, I'm a little put off by the almost unquestioned assumption that the mark of the beast will be a micro-chip. Or the the beast will be an Eastern European. Or that LaHaye/Jenkins are the absolute go to authorities on all things end times.
Overall I think end-times preaching is just the modern day 'fire and brimstone'. I believe it's true, but the way it's handled is often too close to scare tactics.
I found that to be a disturbing clip, and not one that I would share with my grandkids, nor would I pass it on. Now for those that know me, you know it is not that I want to shelter those I love from the disturbing issues in the world. No, but rather I choose to show them the disturbing things in life that they can work to change.
I believe the Gospel is hope. I choose to try and inspire with the few gifts I have. Inspire to find a vision truly given by God, validated in practical Biblical truth, seen acted out in Christ's life, and acted on no matter how small the beginnings. In my opinion my grandchildren, thirteen so far, will be the very ones that help stop the madness in the world. My prayer, my belief, is one day a video could be made of my grandchildren's corporate ministries for Christ, that would make such a hope rise up in you, that would bring such Glory to God, and be a current for good in this land that would leave the viewer with inspiration, hope, and a fire in their breast to do something, anything that God leads. This is no foolish vision of an old man, I see it happening in my children and have no doubt it is but the beginning.

Mans interpretation of the Bible is at times, flawed.
Trying to "guess" whether or not the writers were referring to the beast as coming from Eastern Europe or if microchips are the mark of the beast is akin to deciphering exactly what the writings of Nostrodamas (sp?) meant, if they meant anything at all.
My take on it is to assume the end times are here now. We will never know how close we are until it actually happens. Maybe that will be today, tomorrow or 30 years from now. Only God knows the place & time.

SIDENOTE: Hmmm...video was well done, except they should have used spell check to spell GOVERNMENT correctly. (A one world governemt)??? - LOW BUDGET MISTAKE
I'm not a fan of using fear to drive someone to God. Jesus didn't use that meathod...in fact quite the opposite. The legalists were always chanting the curses and dooms of breaking God's laws and measuring worthiness and goodness in others, but from what I read, Jesus gave away good gifts for free to others to draw them to the Father and his kingdom - healing, food/water, kindness, the teachings of God, etc. I didn't see him bending down to the blind man and saying, "You know...you're going to burn in the flames of hell if you don't serve me."
While that was a true statement, he didn't use that as his platform.
I think Mother Theresa a perfect example. She didn't spend her time trying to SAVE dying souls by handing out tracks and making them all repeat the sinners prayer with their last breath. She spent her time LOVING and SERVING and FEEDING the dying, and in turn, they were saved. Wow...that's powerful and pure. - LeeElla
