I've been under enthused of late...and my artistic and writing self, have been dribbling out a few things here and there, but nothing steady. Sorry it's been slow around here...I've been pretty busy on other fronts and the deep places of meditative, artistic exploration have been few of late....my poor artist soul is anemic.

The winds of the Muses blow where they will.....
Remember last summer when you mentioned to me how "there's a season for everything"?
I've been blessed lately by reading some of your older posts on "church planting" and "church life" We're very much of the same heart in these matters. In fact God has been useing some of these posts to further arouse an awakening in me that he's been doing all this year...

BTW...I have done my homework ;) about praying in the Spirit in my blog, if you're interested.

Great thoughts Charity, you are the second person to take me up on the Jude 20 challenge...thanks for weighing in.
A couple of things come to mind after reading this.
First of all, I think we would all be on more solid ground concerning any subject if we chose to base our positions or beliefs on what the scripture says...and not what it "doesn't say". It really doesn't matter what this group or that group says the bible means...but what does it actually say for itself.
I think a lot of folks would end up having to change their positions or traditions; if they truly just embraced what the bible says. Referencing one another is a sure means for going loopy, its circular reasoning: "I believe it because they believe it" etc...
Not to say church history or tradition doesn't have a role in guidance towards a common understanding, I think it does. But in general, what says the scripture and do we truly embrace it...is a starting point and maybe even the ending point too.
Second...I hope your description of a "Charismatic" church wasn't an attempt to describe Jacob's Well. Because that would be a very inaccurate description our corporate life and expression both in worship and posture towards scripture and life in the Spirit or the demonstration of the gifts and theological understanding.
Darin,
Glad to hear the Spirit continues to use stuff around here for His purposes. You are a answers to prayer, my friend.
No, we had been attending a Four-Square church for about three years beforehand, and I've also had several run-ins with Pentecostal and "non-denominational" churches, as well as people from those congregations. Jacob's Well most certainly is not included in my summarization. I reread my blog later and realized that it sounded as though I was including my current church :)
