Cowboys:
1. They were never looking for trouble.
2. But when trouble came, they faced it with courage.
3. They were always on the side of right.
4. They defended good people against bad people.
5. They had high morals.
6. They had good manners.
7. They were honest.
8. They spoke their minds and they spoke the truth, regardless of what people thought or "political correctness," which no one had ever heard of back then.
9. They were a beacon of integrity in the wild, wild West.
10. They were respected. When they walked into a saloon, the place became quiet, and the bad guys kept their distance.
11. If in a gunfight, they could outdraw anyone. If in a fist fight, they could beat up anyone.
12. They always won. They always got their man. In victory, they rode off into the sunset.

Dear beloved, If we were living in a Western, we might make decisions based on simple ideas, however, wipe the sleep from you eyes, we are not. -Matt
I think simple ideas as you call them have been some of the greatest pillars in our nations history. I think simple ideas have been the backbone of some of the toughest realities faced by previous presidents. I think Ronald Reagan was a man of simple ideas that brought about great change here and abroad.
I'll stick with simple ideas in a culture that has got so confused that it can't tell the difference between life and murder, baby and tissue, man and woman, mommy and daddy, elders and baggage, justice and violence, art and pornography, God and a tree...
There were no such cowboys. They had many faults like all of us humans. We live in a complicated world that demands us to deal with complicated issues. If we keep looking at things in black and white we are going for a horseback ride in the wrong direction. -Matt
