Here is my latest painting based on Hebrews 12:3 which speaks of not growing weary and losing heart. Both of which are taking place in this picture. The farmer is growing a crop of weary and the traveler has lost his heart on the journey. There is other imagery in the painting too, all of which speak about my life these last few years.

I love it! I love the story telling of it. In one way it is explicit, but the actual subjects are painted simply (in a good way). Brilliant. love, Matt
A quick note on shooting these for us (or stuff somebody told you that you already know). Focus and light. The light must come from the sides not from your flash. Try putting two stand lights (or whatever you have) on either side of the painting (45 degrees or until you don't see glare), white balance your camera to those lights (the manual will tell you how if you don't know), turn off your flash, steady your camera on a tripod or stable thing, set the timer if you are still getting blur (that way you don't have to nudge the camera with your big finger :) ) Try and frame out the background with only the picture or put a sheet behind. Seeing the easel is fine but the room behind is distracting a bit. These painting are so good, I want to see them as best as possible! -Matt
Thanks, I will try that!
