"Every story of conversion is the story of a blessed defeat."-C.S. LewisHurt, This is a great video, song cover by Johnny Cash.
One of the reasons I value Country music, Bluegrass, Gospel and the Blues...is that elders are still worth listening too in this genre. Somehow being a sinner and a saint is possible down South....there is still deep wisdom outside the city limits.
“All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. -JRR Tolkien

I loathe this life. The rest of my life stretches on endlessly to the horizon. May my heart awake, finally, fully, in the presence of its Creator.
"Somehow being a sinner and a saint is possible down South",
well, probably in the South they just 'fess up.
That Tolkien quote is a classic.

Props to Mutt Lange, the producer of this album. After Cash was rejected by all of the major labels and producers, he decided to self produce & release as an independent. Lange caught wind of it and asked Cash he would let him produce it. Cash agreed. Wonderful album.
By the way... Lange previously was the producer for bands such as The Cars, AC-DC, Foreigner, Def Leppard, etc. Hardly in the genre of what Cash had done in the past but the emotional & sensitive handling of this album showed Lange's true skill. A bittersweet project for them both as they both knew Cash's days were numbered at the time of this recording.
Too much info? What can I say... been a Johnny Cash fan since I was a kid.
