I was finally able to listen to the hymns yesterday. The other times I'd tried, I must have been at computers with stringent download restrictions. Anyway, I absolutely LOVED the first four! I've been searching for a good rendition of "Come Thou Fount," and now I have one on my computer and can listen to it anytime I want! Cool! :)
Also, "My Jesus I Love Thee", we actually sang the first two verses and the refrain for that hymn not this last Sunday but the one before it. What a healing balm it was to my heart! To hear it again here, so skillfully performed, carried an extra measure of meaning for me. I don't know how you found this website, but thank you very much for pointing us towards it. :)
Mel, I posted it knowing you would love it, or at least value it. I am glad others have enjoyed it too.
Have you heard of Fernando Ortega, he has some sublime versions that capture the austere yet beautiful offerings of these beautiful theologically grounded songs?
His version of "O Sacred Head Now Wounded" the violin in it, the words, the arrangement that Fernando puts to it, is so moving to me.
