But I think it fails to mention Jesus, which was God's tangible, human form.
He has good thought, but I fear they aren't rooted in Bible, but more in alternative ways of thinking about the Bible which were fueled by non-canonical text.
Concerning Lilith... this does seem a good argument sometimes, but I think we'd best look at the scripture
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.":
I don't think this is saying God made male and female simultaneously. I think it's saying that when God made each, Adam first and Eve a bit later, he was making them in his own image.
And it is possible that he did make Eve on the sixth day, because in Genesis chapter two, the chapter which describes Eve's creation, it starts with "this is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created". possibly we are backtracking for a bit more detail?
anyway, great thinking but I think its safer to go toward the weight of evidence in the Bible before going to extrabiblical texts.

ps not to say im not intriguied by extrabiblical texts, but i dont regard them as scripture. and i dont think its healthy to base a whole idea off of them alone.
I have heard a number of clips and this one reaches me the most. I have to admitt his theology is difficult to follow, along with his accent, but if I could reduce what I hear him say it is, we can become modern day Pharasees if we reduce Christianity to systematic theology and do not "erupt"(filled with the Spirit)from within; if we name the light but do not see what the light produces in us and in the world. I think he is profound in his thinking, although difficult to grasp, and certainly better felt than told. Regarding Lilith, I think his point was that Lilith took something from God that gave her wings of flight, and we can miss that in pursuit of the right name for God, and we are trying to overhear the name where Lilith wanted the Spirit of the name. Anyway, that's my take on it.
Atta boy Christian, you are becoming quite the Bible student and I'm proud of what God is doing in you. Love Grandpa Fred
Wasn't Peter Rollins the dude from Black Flag? Oh, wait. That was Henry Rollins.
The point of his story with Lilith is, I felt, the point of the video. Not that it's true, but it's a way to "fill in the gaps" of our limited understanding. To try and quantify God. I think his point was best stated in the line "we don't know the number of hairs on God's head, but he knows the number on ours."
The video was fascinating. I, too, struggled with understanding everything that was said past the accent, so I'm hoping to watch it again in a quiet atmosphere with no distractions. I'm glad you posted it.
BTW, the Apocrypha was included in every translation of the Bible, both Protestant and Catholic, until the late 1800's. Does anyone know the real reason it was taken out by the Protestants at that time? I've researched it, but keep coming up with conflicting information.
I've now watched parts 1, 3 & 4 of this series, thanks to Fred. The more I hear Peter Rollins speak, the more I want to hear him speak. I believe God is going to do unimaginable things through this man.
