What a profoundly moving video! I've seen it before, but it's one of those that can, and probably should be, seen many times, and the meaning and beauty only intensifies each time as newly recognized details are noticed and appreciated.

I want to thank you for the "Poets more than Prophets" post. I can't even begin in this short comment to tell you how much that post means to me. It is the perfect expression to complete something God has been laying on my heart for several months now. I can't wait to write more about it, actually! :)

So what makes this better than Fireproof? For me it's that this is less formula. The problem with formula is that unless you have a huge budget it looks like a afterschool special. This girl has probably far fewer dollars but is at least trying something different. It's also straight forward, for me if you aren't really skilled or inspired your message comes off with white haired sideburns... Anyway I liked this one even though I wasn't sure all the way through.

It is refreshing to see the church put out a multi media project that is void of "cheese". We have made lame attempts in this area in the past, so that now anything "christian" is expected to be a grade "C" production. Thank God the younger a generation that believes in producing quality pieces like this. Moved me to tears at the end, as it rang out familiar chords from my own heart. As Matt said, not a huge budget was put into this, but amazing results.

Matt,

Here's why I think this video is one of the best.

-It's honest. The agenda is clear, upfront, authentic. It's Christian but real in its wrestling with pain, suffering and human reality.

-It's Christian but creative. The use of image, poetry, rap, spoken word, music, camera angles, location, space is well thought out.

-The message is true to the human heart. All of us as humans could say this.

-Its well done. In a nation that spends more money on dog food than missions; it's nice to see some producers put money into a project.

-Its gospel. It looks, sounds and resonates with who Jesus was and is, what He did and who He calls us to be.

-I would share it with 95% of people.

Ahh there's the rub... that 5%. I guess that's the difference between a masterpiece and really good.

A good friend of mine, who helped start this church and me get through a rough season of my life use to encourage me; with the reminder of what makes a baseball legend. Batting averages reflect a real to life goal...not perfection, just better. I can reach for that....masterpiece? Not sure about that level of expectation.

not to reach 100, but that confounded 5.
